I am Erika Del Carmen Fuchs, a multilingual Mexican-German Canadian (Mestiza) solo mama by choice of Ixchel. While from Langley, BC, unceded traditional territories of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui, and Semiahmoo First Nations, I now live in Tkaronto, traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.

As a human-centred design and transformation facilitator, I support the transformation of systems, processes, workplaces, communities and individual lives to achieve greater social and economic justice, with a focus on BIPOC leadership and communities. While I have lived in different countries and worked across different sectors, my contagious passion for inclusive and impactful design in my 'work'/professional life comes from my experiences with grassroots social movements in Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil –- as well as something deeper that I identify as connection to my ancestors and spirit guides. Through this fellowship, I seek to delve deeper again into my ‘fire’, deep life-force that allows me to be a facilitator of personal and system transformation.
