As a white settler born, raised and benefiting from the traditional territories of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation, Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, I bring a queer, Yukon-grown, interdisciplinary perspective to my work.

Using grounded research methods and an intersectional lens, I have been coordinating research projects for over 12 years, both in academia and in the not-for-profit sector. I have been exploring the gender-based violence data gaps in the Yukon through multiple projects including as co-author of “Never Until Now: Survey of Indigenous & Racialized Women Mine Workers Yukon & Northern British Columbia (2021)”, “Taxi Safety Survey Report (2022)”, and as the project coordinator for YSWC’s Community GBV Risk Assessment project and Yukon Advocate Case Review.

My diverse educational background includes a B.Sc. in Neuroscience and Philosophy of Science, a diploma in Northern Science, and I am (trying) to complete an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have participated in several model Arctic Councils with an emphasis on using science and research as a tool for diplomacy, I've sat on the Boards of Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre, the NGO Hub Society, and am currently a Commissioner for the Yukon Human Rights Commission.
