Shruti is a fundraising practitioner based in Toronto, Canada. She currently works as the Senior Associate Director of Philanthropy at Nature United.
Born and raised in India, she has spent her career working with corporates and non-profit organizations that are addressing the climate crisis, and has been involved in climate change research, sustainability consulting, program implementation, and fundraising.
She has worked with several vulnerable communities over the years, and has closely observed the disproportionate impact of climate change on their lives. However, she is hopeful that if all of us act together, we can make a difference in this battle against climate change. Shruti has a master’s of arts in economics, and a master’s of philosophy in habitat studies.
Shruti believes in building relationships and establishing long term trust-based partnerships, both personally and professionally. She believes that her strengths are curiosity, empathy and authenticity. She wants to be a leader who brings her whole-self to everything she does, and encourages others to be who they are.
She loves to meet people from around the world and learn about different cultures through her work and travels, and also share her own culture with them. She spends time outdoors running, hiking, and bird watching or just sitting by the water with her husband and their dog. She loves reading, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and talking about the environment and sustainability.
